  About the artist:
  Born in 1966, Whitney Nye earned a BA in Studio Art from the University of Oregon in 1989, then was awarded a Fellowship at the Penland School in North Carolina. She began exhibiting her large-scale paintings, collages and mixed media sculptures in 1992 in Portland, Nashville, and Jackson Hole galleries. She has work in the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Eugene and at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. She is represented by Russo Lee Gallery in Portland.
