    About the artist:
    Born in 1933 in Nagoya, Japan, Satsuko Hamilton was trained to paint designs on pottery in her parents’ ceramic factory. Moving to the U.S after her marriage to fellow artist George Hamilton, she began painting in watercolors and acrylics on canvas and exhibited at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, the Portland Art Museum and the Bellevue Art Museum.
    Hamilton was a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and the Northwest Watercolor Society, and her work is represented by Lawrence Gallery in Lake Oswego, Oregon and Attic Gallery in Camas, Washington. She died in 2008 in Portland.
